Instagram post 2190914108239699022_193423677 #thegoodlist | house smelling of cinnamon and all Christmassy spice, a rare and frosty but beautiful winter’s day, “I love you Mommy!” while walking the toddler to playschool, realizing I have all I need and more.
Instagram post 2188608053316698549_193423677 Intentions for the coming Christmas:
.
1) turn to nature for decors
2) do an advent calendar with the toddler for the first time
3) gift guide: experience vs material
4) when no.3 fails, wrap “plants” and “imperfectly-baked cookies”
5) call the loved ones, long-distance and near
6) prep and eat healthy
7) but carbs and sweet meters are completely flexible
8) stage a Christmas concert right on the bed
9) go outdoors (there’s no such thing as a bad weather, only bad clothes, as our Swedish friends would say)
10) remember it’s not about Santa.
.
Cheers to the most wonderful time of the year. 🎄
Instagram post 2187804981372075402_193423677 As of late, #thegoodlist | the toddler’s seller-buyer play, R’s additional trip around the sun, re-arranging to fight discontent, terrible colds (mine) and tummy bug (Z) fought hard for without medication, and have I told you about cappuccino with oat milk?! ☺️
.
What are you most grateful about friends? List them down. It changes you and your trajectory. 🙋🏻

Instagram post 2174292653439551321_193423677 Nature in the hallway - autumn edition. Aren’t the #pampasgrass (on the left) pretty? 🍂
.

Zeya and I made an autumn wreath but it’s apparent he is not into arts and crafts yet. He lost interest and left me in the middle of the crafting. 😅
.

It’s a good sensory exercise for the afternoon nonetheless and the autumn leaves collecting dust in the hallway have finally found their home on our door. 😉

Instagram post 2168560816066921053_193423677 In my quest to find simple, easy-to-prepare healthy recipes this year, I have been trying out recipes after recipes and improving my previously non-existent culinary skills! ☺️
.
This is a favorite as of late and so easy to prepare—Chia Coconut Mango Pudding. Coconuts and mangoes are my childhood snacks and my toddler seems to have inherited my love for them! 🥭 🥥 .
I share the simple recipe on the blog. Link in profile. 👉🏻 .

Instagram post 2168276254569249291_193423677 The evolution of the dining area. Always trying to keep it simple and easy to maintain (i.e. clean) because in this side of the world, we do ALL the chores—-cleaning, folding laundry, cooking, vacuuming, ironing, etc! 💪🏼
.
I am keen to keep things simple if I wish to do things other than tending to my home. 😂

From my experience, the dining area and kitchen easily get cluttered because it’s a hob for coming and going. The oddest of things always find their way here. My solution? 5 minutes every night of resetting this area if I can. ☺️ Best solution? Own less things in general so only few things end up here. Have I arrived yet? No. As I always say, a work in progress over here. ☺️

Instagram post 2167880111817479869_193423677 I thought I’ll join the #fridayintroductions for the first time ever. (Thank you to the amazing people who added me on their list!) If I’m doing this wrong, call me out. ☺️

Hi! My name is Laidel, a former shopaholic and trinkets-holic now trying to simplify life—both the physical and the emotional aspect. I say “try” as my overall approach to simplicity is giving myself grace in the process, in the countless restarts. I have not arrived there yet. ☺️
.
I’m an accountant by profession working in the non-profit sector. I like what I do but I love being a home-maker and mother the most! 👩‍🍳 🧹
.
By day I work on spreadsheets and prep meals and wipe counters. By night I read stories to myself and to my toddler.📚
.
When i get fringe hours, I write and blog my heart out. (Link in profile).☺️
