While my hands are tiring from repetitive motion of ironing (my most-hated chore and one that I don’t do often), my soul is resting and soaking in on @proverbs31ministries podcast.

Highly recommended for ladies (the podcast, not the ironing) when your heart and soul are weary and needing that much-needed reset and refill. 😉

A little Easter Break project with Z (see previous

A little Easter Break project with Z (see previous post for the process) ☺️

Dyeing brown eggs naturally, results:

Purple cabbage - produced a beautiful deep blue (our favorite!)
Beetroot - produced a brown hue.
Turmeric - produced a golden yellow.
Turmeric + purple cabbage - produced a light yellow green.

Z enjoyed this little project, one that we might do again next year in many more colors and using white eggs (if we could find them!).

Basically, you steam the eggs, preferably, which I did. Cut the veggies/spoon turmeric powder + add water + 1 tbsp vinegar. Boil for 30 mins. Strain and cool. Dip the eggs and pray they will actually color.

No nails have been stained in the process but Z enjoyed dipping the eggs while I held my breath for the fragile/poor eggs. 12 out of 18 eggs didn’t crack and now submerged in the dyes waiting verdict tomorrow.

I’ve been checking them out every 10 minutes or so which I get reprimanded for by the husband.

I guess patience is key and I’ll give an update tomorrow then!

Ending the month of March with blooming daffodils,

Ending the month of March with blooming daffodils, warm sunshine and a growing child who has just turned 5 and a fluffy little friend in our little garden. 🌼

In the midst of a heart-broken, pandemic-stricken world, it is a precious gift to enjoy a few moments within the walls of this garden.

It can get lonely and monotonous and depressing, I’ll give you that, but there is joy to be acknowledged in the stretching of days and the blooming of flowers and trees. Don’t let these small wonders pass by you.☺️

For many years, it always rained on St. Patrick’

For many years, it always rained on St. Patrick’s Day in Ireland. Well, this year’s is an exception and one my family will look back to with fondest memories.

It is unbelievably sunny and warm, the sky almost cloudless. The daffodils are in full bloom and the sea is calm and sparkling blue, and for a day remembering a saint (without a grand parade), this day feels like an answered prayer, an end to a very bleak, virus-stricken and long winter at the very least.

Our faces and hearts are warm and R and I think we even look younger in photos even though we don’t in person (that’s the sun’s filtering effect we figure😉). Z plays to his heart’s content and Forest naps the Cockapoo way beneath the sun.
